Day 1: Buenos Aires – Esteros del Iberá

Upon arrival at the Ministro Pistarini – International Airport you will be assisted for your private flight to Rincon del Socorro, nestled in the amazing Esteros del Iberá region. Estimated flying time from Buenos Aires to Esteros del Iberá, Corrientes: 1h 45 minutes Rincon del Socorro is a small, refined eco-tourist hotel in the ranch’s recycled main house. After the check-in, you will introduced to the many activities the lodge offers, which you will be able to do and enjoy with your guide. Meals are predominantly prepared with organic fruit and vegetables, most from our kitchen garden. The lodge is equipped with a professional kitchen and offers a full bar service. They specialize in fine organic cuisine and honor the Argentine barbecue tradition in their well known barbeque dining area with a wide variety of free range meat, grilled vegetables, good Argentine wines, homemade breads and special deserts. There many activities at the estancia comprises horseback riding, boat & canoe trips, nature walks & fly fishing. On top of that, Rincon del Socorro is an excellent place for birding; if you are not already a birdwatcher, it is very easy to become one here! In the four different habitats of this large former ranch, you can see an amazing number of different types of birds in a short time, including endangered species from the surrounding region that have found shelter here. This place is ideal for horseback riding. From the saddle you can see lots of wildlife; riding is the quickest, easiest and most pleasant way to get to know this ecosystem. The horses are well behaved and friendly.

Rincon del Socorro is a 12,000-hectare (29,700 acres) former cattle ranch on the edge of the Ibera wetlands in Northeastern Argentina that has been made into a nature reserve. Our orientation is to give guests and visitors a good understanding of the local ecosystem and an appreciation for the importance of wetlands and savanna landscapes. There are six rooms in the main house and three small bungalows within 50 meters of it, all with private bathrooms. The main house has a large indoor living room, a screened veranda living room, a large indoor dining room, a terrace dining area. On the grounds are a swimming pool, a screened barbecue house, and a barn with tack room.

Day 3: Esteros del Iberá

Iguazú Falls In the morning, after breakfast, private flight to Iguazú followed by a private transfer to your exclusive Posada in the jungle. Estimated flying time from Esteros del Iberá to Iguazú: 1 hour. Situated in the northeast of Argentina, Puerto Iguazú is the city that borders on Brazil and Paraguay through the concourse of Paraná and Iguazú Rivers, providing with the greatest spectacle of water and forest ever existing on Earth – the unique and amazing Iguazú Falls – which in the Guaraní language means “Big waters”. This is the place where nature in its greatest beauty expression will amaze you for sure. Puerto Bemberg has a park with more than 5000 native trees and plants. Its Jesuit garden is in dialogue with the park, reflecting the best of Spanish tradition. Here you will find trails, natural falls, walks among the treetops, an exclusive library with more than 2500 volumes and an intimate restaurant where to crown the day. Today, you will visit the Brazilian side of the falls, which allow visitors to gaze at the panoramic view of nearly all the falls on both sides of the river. Optional: enjoy a 10-min aerial sightseeing on helicopter over the falls.

Day 4: Iguazú Falls

Iguazú Falls, Misiones Province Today you will visit the Iguazú National Park – World Natural Heritage by UNESCO –, located on the Argentine side. Walk along the upper and lower circuits, and experience close-up views of the waterfalls. With 3.2 kms of walkways, the Argentine Catwalks provide a variety of different vantage points from which to view the falls, as well as an opportunity to view the abundance of nature within the national park. Later take a train ride to the most impressive part of the entire area: the awe-inspiring Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s throat), where you will get a close-up view of the spectacular cascading falls. The Garganta del Diablo is where 15 cascades come together to create the most impressive and dramatic of all the 275 falls. A train that runs on natural gas takes you along the upper part of the Iguassu River to the Devil’s Throat. You will then walk along catwalks to a viewing platform where you can observe at close range the sheer power and volume of the water. Finally, enjoy the jungle adventure of going through the rainforest on 4- wheel drive trucks followed by a 10-minute navigation on board a high- speed zodiac to ride along the powerful falls with close ups to some of the most extraordinary falls where you will have a “baptism in the mist”. Enjoy the evening at your Posada visiting its wonderful library or you could enjoying a private wine tasting session with your expert wine sommelier.

Day 5: Iguazú – Cafayate

Salta Province Transfer to the local airport for your private flight to Cafayate, in the heart of the Valles Calchaquies. Estimated flying time from Iguazú to Cafayate, Salta: 2 hours 30 minutes. Cafayate is a small picturesque town which surrounding’s fertile valleys are used to produce superb altitude wine (homeland of the Torrontes terroir). Day 6: Cafayate – Cachi

Salta Province Today you will go northwards into the colorful Cachi, a small town where the Chicoanas used to live and which still conserves old houses lines in the narrow streets. Visit the superb Estancia Colome to taste some of the premium wines in the region. Visit the James Turrell Museum and enjoy a wine tasting. In Cachi you will be able to visit the church built in the XVIII century and the Anthropologic Museum situated around the square. The distinctive feature of the landscape is the Cachi Mountain, known as the Nevado de Cachi and famous for its 8 peaks and for the fertile valley of Cachi Adentro. Enjoy a delicious tea at the hotel with great views of the Nevado. Estimated driving time from Cafayate to Cachi: 4 1⁄2 hours (160 kms).

Day 7: Cachi – Salta

Salta Province Today you will continue going north through the mythic National Route 33 towards Salta. You are going to pass by many impressive landscapes! For example the Cuesta del Obispo (which reaches its zenith at 3,348 metres above sea level, quite literally up in the clouds!), which for over 30 km of meandering mountain roads offers breathtaking views over a green and red valley, known as the Valle Encantado (Enchanted Valley). Estimated driving time from Cachi to Salta: 4 hours (160 kms) Have lunch in the colonial city of Salta. Visit the MAAM museum. Opened in 2004, it allows visitors to fully understand and appreciate the Inca culture & heritage. The museum is located in the main square and is part of the historic centre. The High Mountain Sanctuary was discovered in 1999 in the Llullaillaco Volcano (above 6739 m.a.s.l) in the Andes range. Three children bodies were found there in perfect state of preservation. These children had been offered as sacrifice to the Inca deities along with a fantastic collection of over 100 objects. In the afternoon, transfer back to your lovely hotel for a well earned rest before enjoying a nice dinner. Another one of Salta’s attractions is its cuisine, which traditionally comprises empanadas and locro combined with original preparations made with typical ingredients and served with excellent local wines. There is a wide range of restaurants that serve these meals as well as international food. Worthy of mention too are the delicacies of so-called high-altitude cuisine, which blends old Andean recipes, new cooking methods and red and white wines from the Calchaqui Valleys.

Day 8: Salta – Mendoza

Estimated flying time from Salta to Mendoza: 2 hours 05 minutes. Mendoza is the heart of Argentina ́s wine country. Over 900 wineries stand up in this vast region at the foothills of the Andes. Fabulous landscapes for outdoor activities, great weather -over 320 days of sun a year- and very friendly people are some of the irresistible aspects of the region. Day 9: Uco Valley, Mendoza

Mendoza Province After a late breakfast, take a full day guided tour of the Uco Valley area, a prevalent wine and fruit producing area. You could enjoy a private wine tasting experience or try the premium lines of the most renowned wineries, with a magnificent view of the Andes. Some wineries you could visit are Pulenta Estate, where a host of the winery will be waiting to show you the Pulenta Estate line of wines in private, or else Salentein Winery, designed by the prestigious architect Bormida-Yanzon or Andeluna Cellars, owned by the late Ward Lay, owner of PepsiCo Snacks, where you will try the whole premium line with a magnificent view of the Andes Mountains.

Enjoy breakfast followed by a transfer to the local airport for your private flight to Buenos Aires. Day 11: San Antonio de Areco, Buenos Aires

Today in the morning you will leave Buenos Aires city on a private vehicle to Estancia La Bamba in San Antonio de Areco. Estancia La Bamba is ideally located only 120 km from Buenos Aires, close to San Antonio de Areco, in the heart of the Pampa. One of the oldest estancias in Argentina, recently renovated with great care as a boutique hotel, successfully combines luxurious comfort and colonial elegance. The feeling of being welcomed into a private home, into a property steeped in history and tradition makes this hotel a special and timeless place for relaxation. Exquisite cuisine, refined service, gaucho traditions and equestrian sports add to the unique magic of La Bamba. Upon your arrival to the estancia you will be greeted and guided around by La Bamba’s staff. You will be invited to try local “empanadas“ and have a typical Argentine “asado” and share lunch with the polo players (depending on their schedule).
